Fans of Jack Nicholson rush to his support when the reclusive actor is seen for the first time in 18 months

Fans of Jack Nicholson have flocked to his rescue after unflattering photos of the 85-year-old actor surfaced online.

The actor, widely known for his roles in films such as Batman and The Shining, hadn’t been seen in public in eighteen months before being spotted on his Beverly Hills home’s balcony.

Nicholson’s photo, which showed him looking tired and wearing an orange t-shirt, was published in a British newspaper, where he was described as “disheveled.”

Fans were outraged when the photos were revealed and came to their idol’s defense.

One tweeted: “When you’re Jack Nicholson, 85, you can look however the f**k you want to look.”

Another remarked: “He’s 85. Why not leave Jack Nicholson alone?”

“I looked like this when I woke up this morning… I’m 37,” one fan admitted, while a fellow admirer of the A Few Good Men star added: “Jack Nicholson is still alive. He’s 85. I identify with this look. This look is my spirit animal.”

One user said: “Jack Nicholson is still COOLER than most of us.”

The actor was last spotted in October 2021, sitting courtside at a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game with his son, Ray.

Despite keeping a quiet profile in recent years, Nicholson is still regarded as one of the best actors of his time.

He is still the most nominated male actor at the Academy Awards, where he won for his parts in One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Terms of Endearment, and As Good As It Gets.

He had his most recent film cameo in the 2010 romantic comedy How Do You Know, opposite Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson, and Paul Rudd.

Nicholson’s lengthy and illustrious career in Hollywood began in the 1950s, and he has remained a popular figure in Hollywood for decades.

The Shining Star is also renowned for being outspoken about his personal ideas and has previously supported a number of Democratic presidential contenders.

He even sought to orchestrate a boycott of the 2003 Academy Awards to protest the US invasion of Iraq, which was underway at the ceremony.

The boycott was ultimately ineffective because Adrien Brody, who was nominated for his role in The Pianist, insisted on attending.

Reflecting on the proposed protest, Brody said: “I don’t know about you guys but I’m going.

“My parents are coming. This doesn’t come around too often. I know you guys are all winners. You can sit this out. But I can’t.”
