The Jordan Poole Trade Proposal

The Washington Wizards will receive Marcus Morris Sr., Brandon Boston Jr., Robert Covington, a 029 second-round draft pick, and a 2030 second-round draft pick.
In exchange, the Clippers will receive Jordan Poole.

Zach Buckley is a well-renowned writer from Bleacher Report who keeps on proposing potential trade deals between different NBA teams to acquire and trade young and star players.

Buckley has proposed a potential trade between the Clippers and the Wizards. He wrote in his NBA news column:

“Because Washington has finally embraced an overdue rebuild, Poole’s pricey pact isn’t particularly damaging to the budget.”

“The Wizards don’t need to unload it just to get it off the books. However, if they could find someone who sees Poole as more than a negative asset, Washington should be interested in clearing the ledger.

“The Clippers, whose interest in James Harden shows a desire for more creation, aren’t giving up much here, but it could still be enough for the Wizards.”

Jordan Poole signed a whopping $218 million contract extension with the Golden State Warriors for four years in October 2022. Poole has scored around 20.4 points for the Warriors in the last season.

Further, Poole has shots around 43% of his shots from the field, 33.6% of his shots from beyond the arc, and 87% of his shots from the free throw line.

Draymond Green and Poole

The reason why the Washington Wizards are considering trading Poole is his performance in the last season. He scored only 10.3 points with a shooting average of 34.1% overall and a total of 25.4% from the three-point line against the Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings in the 13 playoff games. Due to this, the Warriors lost against the Lakers in the Western Conference Semifinals in 6 games.

Some Wizards players are also not happy with Jordan Poole’s behavior on the team. Draymond Green punched him in the face, while Klay Thompson also had some issues with him.
