One Piece Dub Catching Up to the Subs
The One Piece Dub in English is notorious for releasing its episodes much later than the Japanese version.
This is because Funimation, which later joined Crunchy Roll didn’t begin producing it until 2004. In 1999, the anime series One Piece debuted with its first episode. This is why the One Piece English Dub and the Japanese subs were five years apart for a very long time.
Episodes 759 through 914 were made available in English, which places the dub just before Luffy and Kaid’s first bout throughout the year 2022. This results in 156 brand-new dub episodes, or an average of 13 episodes each month.

By the end of 2023, the dub may reach Episode 1070 if the sub and dub both keep moving forward at their present speeds. The subtitles need to have progressed at most as far as Episode 1093 by then. Logically, the dub may release episodes weeks before their initial Japanese broadcast by March or perhaps February 2024.
Why has the One Piece Dub caught up to the Subs recently?
The anime industry has seen a drastic change in viewers over the years. It was not a huge deal earlier even if the subs were not on time or even a year behind. But this course has changed since the number of viewers grew over time from different parts of the world. So now the subs were expected to be released within a week are so.
It’s good news for the fans that now One Piece Dub is catching up with the subs otherwise, fans would have to stick to the start of the Whole Cake Island Arc. Now that the Dub is catching up it will be easier for the dub fans to finally enjoy the series like the rest of the viewers.
